Welcome to the homepage of Prof. Dr. Cristiano André da Costa.

Dr. Costa is a full professor and researcher at Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (Unisinos, Brazil). At Unisinos, he works at the Applied Computing Graduate Program and directs the SOFTWARELAB, Unisinos Laboratory of Software Innovation. Dr.Costa obtained his Ph. D. and M. Sc. in Computer Science from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, Brazil). In 2016, he did a sabbatical at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU, Germany) in the Machine Learing and Data Analytics Laboratory.

Since 2012, he has been a Researcher Fellow at the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq, Brazil). Dr. Costa has worked as a professor in higher education since 1997. He is a senior member of the ACM and IEEE. He is also a member of the Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society (EMBS), the International Association for the Development of the Information Society (IADIS), and the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC).

His research interests include ubiquitous, mobile, and distributed computing. In recent years, Prof. Cristiano has been applying his research to the health area. He has substantial experience managing Research, Development & Innovation (R, D & I) projects with the industry.
